The "2025 ALEA III Summer Meetings” and the “Forum: Young Composers - Young Performers" give the opportunity to college age composers and performers to spend ten days on the splendid island of Naxos, play music, exchange ideas, create new works and enjoy the beaches and the 5,000 year history of an island in the heart of the Aegean Sea.
The programs are presented in collaboration of ALEA III with YriaRT Productions, the Region of Southern Aegean, the Municipality of Naxos and Small Cyclades, the Tragea Cultural Council and the National Kapodistrian Univeristy of Athens.
The core ensemble (Cappella Atenea, Leontios Tsokas, conductor) is a classical-size orchestra including piano:
2 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets, 2 bassoons, 2 horns, strings (4, 4, 2, 2, 1) and two pianists
- The young composers create new works for any combination of the above
- The performers are encouraged to prepare and present works belonging to any musical genre, era and style.
- All have the oportunity to give a presentation on any topic of their choice (college level paper, Master’s or Doctorate dissertation)
Even though plans have been made for the participating composers and performers in the “Forum", the "Summer Meetings" are open to welcoming more participants (composers, performers and artists of any discipline). If they wish, “Summer Meetings” musicians will be considered to perform with the “Forum” orchestra.
Bring your works, your instrument, your film, your ideas for a project to work together with peers.
The meetings are free and open to all who wish to be active participants or spectators.
